Player won’t face criminal charges in alleged assault
Former University of Oregon basketball player Brandon Austin will not face criminal charges for an alleged sexual assault at Providence College, the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office said Wednesday.
The attorney general’s office said in a news release that it determined that there was insufficient evidence for a statewide grand jury to consider charges against Austin.
The office presented evidence to a grand jury regarding Austin’s teammate and roommate, Rodney Bullock, who was accused of sexual assault in the same case. The grand jury said there was insufficient evidence to charge Bullock.
